Love knows no boundaries, and for Veronica and Daryl, this was especially true. The couple, who currently reside in Australia, celebrated their union with two unforgettable weddings – first in Melbourne, and then in Birmingham. With Daryl hailing from Birmingham, it was essential for them to share their joy with family and friends in his hometown as well. The Old Library in Digbeth provided the perfect backdrop for their Birmingham celebration, and we at Kara Mia Venue Styling were honoured to be part of their special day.

A Celebration Across Continents

Veronica and Daryl’s journey to matrimony started in Melbourne in 2023. Their Melbourne wedding was filled with personal touches and meaningful details, so it was important to them that their Birmingham wedding reflected the same sentiment. They wanted their weddings to be cohesive, ensuring that the essence of their Melbourne celebration carried over to Birmingham.

The Old Library Digbeth: A Venue with Character

The Old Library in Digbeth, with its historical charm and unique character, was the ideal setting for this international celebration. The couple opted for a celebrant-led ceremony, which was beautifully conducted by Lisa, making it personal and heartfelt. The ceremony was adorned with our lush faux foliage arrangements and draping on an arch crafted by Daryl’s father, adding a touch of family love to the decor.

Travel-Inspired Styling

Travel was a recurring theme in Veronica and Daryl’s wedding styling. Each table was named after an airport, symbolising the couple’s love for adventure and the distances they had crossed to be with each other. The cake carried this theme through perfectly and was a real show stopper!

Cohesive Elements from Melbourne

Maintaining some elements from their Melbourne wedding was crucial for the couple. For their Digbeth wedding venue styling, a moongate with a grid background was a must-have feature, ensuring the photos from both weddings were cohesive. We dressed the moongate with our lush jewel-toned florals and added the couple’s acrylic signs, each displaying a wedding date, creating a beautiful fusion of their two celebrations.

Elegant Table Settings

For the table settings, forest green napkins adorned with bunny tails added an elegant touch. These small details elevated the overall look, making the tablescapes not only visually appealing but also personal and unique to Veronica and Daryl’s vision.

Capturing the Magic

The magic of the day was captured perfectly by UR Rosa Photography. Their keen eye for detail and ability to capture the emotion and essence of the celebration ensured that every precious moment was documented beautifully. From candid shots of laughter and joy to the stunning portraits against the backdrop of Digbeth, UR Rosa Photography’s work will allow Veronica and Daryl to relive their special day for years to come.

A Day to Remember

Reflecting on the day, Veronica shared, “I adored our ceremony, with Lisa making it so personal and understated, but my favourite part of the day was walking back into the room, as husband and wife, seeing the faces of everyone there and the room fully set, reflecting all the hard work in planning and discussions come to life. The wonderful suppliers like yourself who exceeded our expectations in execution.”

Veronica’s Top Wedding Planning Tips

Veronica also offered some sage advice for couples planning their own weddings: “My tip for people planning their wedding is to take a breath and enjoy the process. It can be overwhelming, like navigating a minefield with so many options to choose from, with pressure from family, friends, and social media and the need for everything to be ‘perfect’. Never forget the reason you’re here: to marry your person, the how’s and the where’s won’t matter in the long run. Respect your partner’s opinions – it’s their wedding too!”

At Kara Mia Venue Styling, we are passionate about bringing our clients’ visions to life. Veronica and Daryl’s wedding was a beautiful blend of personal touches, meaningful details, and a celebration of love that spanned two continents. It was a day filled with joy, love, and the creation of lasting memories, and we are so grateful to have been a part of it.
