At Kara Mia Venue Styling, we’re privileged to be part of countless love stories, each unique and special in its own way. Jasmine and Andre’s wedding at Bredenbury Court Barns in Hereford was a beautiful example of love and resilience. Their journey was not without its challenges, but their day was nothing short of magical. Here’s a glimpse into their special day, along with insights from the bride and groom themselves.

The Venue

How did you choose your wedding venue?

Jasmine: “I’ve always envisioned having a modern barn wedding and searched online before deciding to view Bredenbury Court Barns. Andre said it was the one on our first visit, and I was sold by the no corkage and exclusive use of the venue.”

Bredenbury Court Barns offered the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, making it an ideal choice for their wedding.

Planning the Wedding

Did you hire a wedding planner or coordinate everything yourselves?

Jasmine: “I currently work in projects and events, so I took on the challenge myself. Balancing this and my day job was a lot of work, but apart from the issue with my original venue stylist, all things went pretty much to plan. Looking back, I would work alongside the venue a lot more as they were a massive help.”

Overcoming Challenges

Unfortunately, just days before the wedding, we at Kara Mia Venue Styling had to step in to replace the original stylist who hadn’t communicated the complete details with Jasmine. We discovered that the centrepieces promised to the couple and other pieces were not passed on to us. Despite this, we worked diligently to create a beautiful setup using our resources, ensuring the couple’s day was as stunning as possible.

What was the most challenging part of planning your wedding?

Jasmine: “The most challenging part was trying to stick to what you’ve originally wanted and not getting swayed by people’s feedback or the latest trends. It was also quite tiring repeating the same thing quite a few times to suppliers.”

The Theme and Style

How did you decide on the theme or style of your wedding?

Jasmine: “We’ve always wanted a classic and timeless wedding where the styling wasn’t an overkill to appreciate just how stunning the venue was. Having the large windows really gave it the indoor-outdoor feel, so we didn’t want to obstruct that view in any way.”

Memorable Moments

What were the most memorable moments of your wedding day?

Jasmine: “There were so many memorable parts of the day, but walking around the reception and seeing all our loved ones in one room witnessing our love was a real blessing and definitely a highlight of the day.”

Unforeseen Surprises

Did everything go as planned, or were there any surprises?

Jasmine: “Most went to plan apart from the venue stylist not attending on the day. I was surprised to see how the room was decorated as it wasn’t exactly what I envisioned, but I was truly thankful that Kara was there to save the day. The venue could have been completely bare, so I was thankful.”

Walking Down the Aisle

How did you feel walking down the aisle?

Jasmine: “I was nervous walking down and seeing the ceremony hall different to what I was expecting was a bit upsetting, but I was just moved by all the people around me smiling and keeping my nerves down.”

Personal Touches

How did you incorporate personal touches into your reception?

Jasmine: “I’ve always been a big kid and loved having different elements to an event so people could be included, hence the games, flags, photobooth, audio booth, and sweets corner. I feel like everyone wants to have fun, and I wanted there to be something for everyone.”

Words of Wisdom

What advice would you give to couples currently planning their wedding?

Jasmine: “Make sure you have decent communication with all your suppliers. It’s perfectly fine to quadruple check with them if you are concerned. It’s your big day, and you should get what you put your hard work and money into. Make sure to also go with what you want and don’t get swayed by others.”

What do you wish you had known before planning your wedding?

Jasmine: “We wish we knew how fast the day goes. I was always told, but it really flies, so enjoy it as much as possible. Regardless of any changes, we made sure to have a bloody good time and we loved every second.”

What are the key things you think every couple should prioritise for their wedding?

Jasmine: “We think people should really concentrate on what makes them happy. What would make them smile on that day. Guests are important, but you never want to look back and be upset you didn’t do something just so others would be happy. You’re in charge of your special day, and you know what you love.”

Jasmine and Andre’s wedding at Bredenbury Court Barns was a testament to their love and determination. Despite unexpected changes, they embraced the day with joy and made it a celebration to remember. At Kara Mia Venue Styling, we were honoured to be part of their journey and help bring their vision to life.
