Compton Verney Wedding Styling : Modern Romance, Bold Flowers and An Art Gallery Setting
If you’re planning a wedding at Compton Verney, you already know it isn’t a venue that needs dressing up for the sake of it. There’s art, beautiful light and a different feeling as you move from one space to another. The question is how to make your wedding feel personal within all of that.
For our styled shoot at this Warwickshire wedding venue, Beth of Floss & Bea Weddings wanted to explore modern romance through light, fashion, movement and the little unexpected details that make an image feel like you. Beth set the direction; I took that idea and built the flowers, backdrop and tablescapes around it. We chose burgundy, green and white, and let the colours take on a different character in each setting.

Wedding flowers for a gallery setting
Compton Verney’s artwork shaped one of the most important decisions we made. The gallery has unglazed pieces to protect, so our table centrepieces used silk hydrangeas in burgundy and green with burgundy anthuriums. They gave us the sculptural shapes and depth of colour we wanted while respecting the space. Fresh flowers featured elsewhere in the shoot, and we worked carefully with colour and form so the two felt connected.
That’s a useful thing to think about if you’re choosing wedding flowers for Compton Verney: start with what each room allows, then decide where fresh flowers will have the most impact. A considered mix of fresh and silk can still feel like one design.

A wedding tablescape with colour and character
On the tables, figs and grapes in varying shades picked up the rich tones in the flowers. Glass and gold lamps brought warmth, while the fruit added a little looseness to the arrangement. It felt romantic, but there was enough contrast and texture to keep it interesting up close.
You don’t have to repeat exactly the same arrangement on every surface to make a wedding look cohesive. We carried burgundy and green through the shoot, then adjusted the materials and scale to suit each space. It gave the tables their own identity without losing the thread of the whole day.
A backdrop that gave the cake and portraits their moment
The backdrop was one of the biggest parts of our design. It stood in a separate space from the tables and gave the cake and bridal portraits a setting of their own. We wanted something with presence that would work with the architecture rather than overwhelm it.
If you’re planning your own Compton Verney wedding, think about the moments you most want to frame. Your ceremony, cake cutting and portraits don’t all need the same styling, but a shared palette or detail can make the day feel connected as guests move through it.

The team behind the Compton Verney shoot
Photography and shoot concept — Floss & Bea Weddings
Beth imagined the shoot as a study in modern romance, with light, fashion, movement and unexpected details at its heart. She photographed it with the eye she brings to real weddings: her documentary approach looks for atmosphere and genuine feeling as a day unfolds.
Content creation — The Wedding Edit
The Wedding Edit captures authentic, nostalgic wedding moments through beautiful iPhone content. Her style is natural, joyful and elevated without feeling overly staged. She sees wedding content creation as modern memory keeping, taking a timeless approach that couples will enjoy looking back on years later as much as they do the morning after.
At Compton Verney, she told the story of the shoot through the minimal bridal look and refined styling against the grandeur of the setting. She captured the finished details and the suppliers at work behind them. Being part of an all-female team made the day particularly special to her.
Hair — Siren Hair Art
Sheree creates modern bridal hair that works with the whole look. For this shoot, she chose a sleek centre parting and a polished, low sculpted bun to complement the clean lines of the Rosa Clará gown. With a high neckline, statement pearl earrings and a veil, the simplicity of the hair let each detail have its moment. The finish took real precision, from the immaculate hairline and shine to the shape of the bun. Sheree is an award-winning bridal hair specialist and educator, and an ASP Global Ambassador.
Make-up — Danielle Louise Artistry
Danielle Louise Artistry created the bridal make-up to sit alongside the stronger colours and shapes in the styling.
Bride model — S.N. Model Couple
Our bridal model brought the outfit, beauty look and flowers to life in front of the camera.
Wedding dress and accessories — Annabel Sarah Bridal
Annabel Sarah Bridal is an independent bridal boutique in Alcester, Warwickshire, where every bride is encouraged to feel incredible and completely herself. The boutique offers complimentary private appointments with exclusive use of the space, and each gown is personally selected for its beautiful fabrics, thoughtful design and distinctive details. Appointments are warm, honest and relaxed, giving brides room to discover their own style.
For the shoot, Annabel chose Gala by Rosa Clará Soft from the new 2027 collection. Its high halter neckline, softly draped silhouette and flowing scarf detail brought a contemporary elegance to the look. The fabric’s delicate texture caught the light beautifully, adding depth without heavy embellishment. With the floral veil, sleek hair and polished make-up, the look felt cohesive and refined against Compton Verney’s grand architecture.
For brides planning a 2027 wedding, Gala is a lovely example of how simplicity can still feel memorable. Texture, movement and an interesting neckline give the gown its presence, creating a look that feels modern and timeless.
Styling and flowers — Kara Mia Venue Styling
We created the flowers, tablescapes and backdrop, finding ways to carry Beth’s idea through different parts of the venue while working thoughtfully around the gallery setting.
Cake — Let’s Eat Cake Warwick
Let’s Eat Cake Warwick is a family-run cake business based in Warwick, created by Sara and Tom. They’re passionate about making the cake the centrepiece of your wedding, designing each one for couples who love a simple, elegant style. Every cake is designed individually, so no two are the same. For the shoot, their cake had its own moment alongside the backdrop.
Stationery — Heart E Designs
Heart E Designs created the stationery for the shoot. Their approach is to “tell life and love stories through stationery”, so the details on the table can say something about the people at its heart. As they put it, “stationery is the glue that holds everything together” a way of carrying the feeling of a wedding through its different moments.
Venue — Compton Verney
Compton Verney’s galleries and grounds gave us the setting, and its artwork helped shape the way we approached the design.
