Real Wedding: Louise & Dan
📍 Venue: The Bond, Digbeth
Some love stories just feel meant to be — and Louise and Dan’s wedding at The Bond in Digbeth was one of those moments where everything came together perfectly. From the emotional ceremony to the incredible party that followed, every detail reflected their story, style, and joy.
The Love Story
Their story began, fittingly, with music. Louise was working behind the bar one night, and Dan was DJing — a chance encounter that soon became something much more. Between 90’s pop requests and shared smiles, a connection formed that only grew stronger over the years.
When it came time to propose, Dan chose a moment filled with meaning. Over dinner, he surprised Louise with a ring that once belonged to his late nan — a deeply sentimental touch that made the occasion unforgettable. A live acoustic singer (pure fate!) happened to be performing that night, which couldn’t have been more perfect.
After a few drinks to calm the nerves, Dan quietly slipped away and asked the musician to play Bruno Mars – Marry You for him. As the song began, Dan’s heart was racing — and when the chorus hit, he took a deep breath, dropped to one knee, and asked the question: “Will you marry me?”
Of course, she said yes.
The Wedding Day
Planned over 12 months, their day was the perfect reflection of who they are modern, stylish, and full of love.
Louise and Dan chose a contemporary and modern theme with a timeless blue and white palette. The industrial charm of The Bond was softened with elegant styling, crisp florals, and thoughtful details throughout.
Their favourite moment? Walking into the reception to the sound of cheers and laughter, surrounded by friends and family waving napkins in celebration — pure joy.
Meaningful Touches
The couple made sure their day honoured family and tradition.
On a table sat photographs of their grandparents, who had also been married in the same church. They even recreated the same wedding pose outside, continuing a beautiful family tradition.
Another unique touch was their audio guestbook, where guests left heartfelt voice messages instead of written notes, a keepsake they’ll treasure forever.
Kara Mia Venue Styling
At The Bond, we embraced the venue’s industrial character while introducing a soft, romantic edge. The styling centred around a blue and ivory palette, combining navy blue satin sashes and table runners with ivory chiffon draping on the sweetheart table and centrepieces.
Each table featured floating candles and delicate gypsophila, creating an elegant, timeless glow that contrasted beautifully with the exposed brick and canal-side backdrop. The overall look was modern yet classic — effortlessly sophisticated and full of warmth.
Every detail was designed to complement Louise and Dan’s vision of a modern celebration that still felt intimate and personal.
Top Tip from the Couple
“Trust your stylist and communicate openly — share your ideas, mood boards, and even your worries. The more you collaborate, the more magic they can create on your big day.”
